Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Society was formed at the start of the 1 st April 1966, the Museum was established in the East Wing and the West Wing of the huge building was the library. Over time, and with the rapid development of library research materials, more space was needed and a special library building was constructed.
Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) is a unique institution which tries to remember. Protection and anti-imperialist struggle in the history of India reconstruct. It was founded in 1966 and is a world class institution of advanced studies which will foster academic research on modern and contemporary history went as was imagined.
In August, 194 Teen Murti House independent India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on 27, lived here for sixteen years until his death in May 1964 after his death, it was decided that the official residence of the Teen Murti House was converted into a museum and should become a library with special reference to the Nehru era will lead to original research in modern Indian history
However, in January 1974 it formally inaugurated President VV Giri was the steady increase in the amount of material required for research annexe building a Center for Contemporary Studies, which was established in 1989 and was completed in as necessary to build a new unit in the building in 1990.
